Our conference was virtual for the second time. But as we learned last year: That's also an opportunity.
We had a fantastic three-day conference bringing together a collection of engaging tasks, insights and demonstrations. The speakers were from the Silverstripe Core Company Silverstripe Ltd, from professionals across Europe and beyond (Australia! Canada!).
The concept of newsletter is changing over the years, and in modern times of inboxes cluttered by information, it requires a great effort to stand out from the crowd. Meet Mautic, a marketing automation platform that is free and completely open source. Giancarlo will walk through the steps necessary to install the software, explain its core ideas and integrate it into your SilverStripe website, from user segmentation to the ability to inject customized messages in the pages. The topics covered will include basic marketing automation concepts like decision tree workflows, external landing pages, video gating, progressive profiling and hot lead handover to other systems like Mailchimp or Sugar CRM. Well' also touch some useful server side concepts like improving email deliverability by setting correct DKIM, DMARC and SPF records, GDPR compliancy, security during server to server communications, queuing and bounce management.

- the technical challenges around the Silverstripe CMS UI
- how the Silverstripe CMS UI is put together
- how to go about creating UI PRs
- how developers can customise the CMS UI, especially the React part
